We are operators, ML researchers, traders, distributed systems engineers, designers, and experimenters with decades of experience leveraging technology in complex environments. Life with play is a whole lot more interesting than without it, and it’s often how people learn. Whether it is reinforcing that mentality as we build together, or our love of novel interactions and delightful visualizations to truly give meaning to the phrase “playing with data”, we seek to play each and every day and to enable our customers to lose themselves in play as well.

There is no substitute for the learning that comes through real world interactions. In our experience the answers tend not to lie in a conference room, or in a slide deck, but with our customers. At table, we encourage each other to deploy early and often in order to learn from our customers.

It’s simple, if we don’t experience failure, then we simply aren’t taking enough risks or moving fast enough. We have to be okay with failing every now and then. It’s a good thing. It means we are challenging ourselves, it means we are growing.

Details matter – but sometimes we can be so married to a task that we can’t see the forest for the trees. We can’t lose sight of the bigger picture of the outcomes we want to give life to. Owning an outcome means being prepared to pivot, to think creatively, to throw away well laid plans and build them anew, to come to each challenge prepared to not only identify blockers and problems but also solutions. It means relentless focus and constantly pushing to get to a result.
